Digital Performer 5 crash course
Course Overview
Digital Performer software has been designed and built for professional use. It provides an easy to understand workflow, with all the features you need for full audio and MIDI production. You get unlimited tracks, unlimited undo, support for surround sound, 64 bit mastering tools, sample-accurate editing of audio and MIDI, automatic tempo calculation for film scoring, and much more.
Our DP5 crash course is aimed at the entry level student who has never used or has little experience of using Digital Performer. You can take this course either in a small group or on a one to one basis. The course is very intensive but still fun and can be taken over one or two days during weekdays, evenings or weekends. . If you decide to study this course on a one to one basis you can change the course content and timetable to suit your personal requirements.
You will be assigned an Apple workstation and will go through the subjects necessary to use Digital Performer in an efficient and productive manner. The objective of the course is to enable the student to produce and arrange songs in their preferred style using the tools, instruments and processors that Digital Performer has to offer.
This course is also particularly suitable for people who are thinking of purchasing a home studio or a Mac but have yet to decide what soundcard, keyboard or software would be the most suitable for their needs. Our tutors and advisors are able to offer informed and impartial advice that will help you choose the best combination of hardware and software to suit your budget.

Introduction to DP5
– Integrating Digital Performer with soundcards, master keyboards and associated devices
Sound editing
– Editing and utilizing audio files and samples.
Virtual instruments
– Using and manipulating software instruments found within Digital Performer.
Using samplers
– Manipulating and editing samples using the Mach 5 sampler.
Creating and editing parts
– Creating melodies, basslines and beat programming using the various editors.
Basic song structure
– Producing and arranging your songs in Digital Performer using the graphic editor and tools.
Recording audio
– Using microphones to record vocals and instruments via soundcards.
Mixing and mastering
– Using the software compressors, gates, reverbs and delays found in Digital Performer.

2 day (10 hours) one to one £349
Course dates
Only available as a one to one course therefore the student selects
the start date.
How long does the course last? The course lasts for just one or two days for the one to one version and two days for the group course.
What time of the day do I attend the course? The course starts at 12.00 and finishes around 17.00
Can I really learn that much in a single weekend? Yes
you can, our crash courses are structured to be intensive yet informative
and students gain a great deal of knowledge from them. We constantly
monitor the content and delivery of all our courses and if they didn't
work we wouldn't be running them!
What's the cost? the course costs just £229 per student for
group courses. For the one to one option the cost for one day is £189
and two days £349.
Can I pay in installments? Unfortunately we are unable to offer payment plans at present but we sometimes accept installments in certain circumstances. Contact us to discuss this in more detail.
